A last gasp (hopefully) of summer

So I got home tonight at about 10:30 (I love 14-hour days; and, except for taking about 40 minutes off to have some supper, I was in the building for 14 hours straight today) and it's still 77 degrees out. And the dewpoint's gotta be high, 'cause the humidity ain't no picnic either. So it's the 3rd of October and I'm running the AC in my house tonight. What's wrong with this picture?

It's called "global warming" Brought to us by the same morons that want to teach creationism in public school and think that science is somehow "evil" and refuse to except any scientific facts that don't agree with their preconceived ideas

Stix: 'tis true, I relented and had to turn the furnace on last night, as it was about 55 degrees in my house when I got home from rehearsal around 9:30 or so. Actually, the thermostat in my living room only goes down to 55, so it might have been a bit cooler.

Mo, not specifically, but as most people don't understand about global warming (especially those who agree with the Bush administration assertion that it doesn't exist) is that it doesn't just make temps hotter, but that it affects global weather patterns to the extent of creating weather extremes of temperature, precipitation, etc. The severity and number of hurricanes in recent years in the Atlantic is quite probably a result of global warming, for example.
