Happy Birthday to Me

Today's my birthday. But at the ripe old age of 48, there's really not that much to celebrate, which is why, I suppose, I'm sitting home on my computer on a Friday night. The highlight of my day (so far): a couple of (pretty hot) high school girls, when they found it was my birthday, asked how old I was; when I told them, they said that they didn't think I looked nearly that old. That kinda warmed the cockles of my old heart.

Three Dollars

It had to happen. Tonight was the first time I paid over three dollars per gallon for gasoline for the auto. Gas here in Fairmont is going for $3.09. Even with my five cent per gallon discount, I paid $3.04 for it. My previous high price was $2.96, a little over a year ago in Winona, Arizona.

Bad Ad

Last week, while driving over to Winona along I-90, I noticed a billboard for a local Kwik Trip convenience store. They apparently wanted to promote the fact that they offered diesel fuel to drivers of the many 18-wheelers that cruise through there. But the billboard said, "Semi Accessible Diesel." Who was the genius who came up with that one?
